I'm thinking of planting my lavender in a labyrinth configuration. Pictured here is a lavender labyrinth in Kastellaun, Germany. Known as a Chartres labyrinth, this design is based on the labyrinth in the French Cathedral of Our Lady Chartres constructed in the early 13th century. I also like the classical seven-point labyrinth. The labyrinth walk is found in many religious traditions and New Age-type lore. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has no tricks and no dead-ends. To some, walking the path represents a spiritual journey of sorts, but I just think that it's a neat way to grow lavender.
